Metro Urology will begin its full programming schedule in January of 2009. The programming will highlight different urologic conditions each month and provide wonderful opportunities for individuals living with, and supporting those who have, urologic conditions to gather with one another.

Monthly Lecture Series
Each month the foundation will feature a lecture to discuss a specific urologic condition. Following these lectures participants will have an opportunity for dialogue and discussion with a medical professional regarding their condition. These programs will also be followed by a month of programming which supports additional education, beyond medical treatment. Woman to Woman - life after prostate cancer
for women whose partner has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer
Share, talk, listen, and learn within this community of women supporting their partners with cancer. A cancer diagnosis is a major life event, and although prostate cancer survival rates are very high when caught early, accepting this new reality can bring challenges to your marriage and family. Find support as you join other women who share in your experience. Feel more connected, more confident, and more sane. Topics include: expectations, communication, maintaining your intimate relationship, support, resources, and so much more. Professionally facilitated, but participant-led.

Healthy Cooking Classes
Studies have shown that healthy eating contributes to a healthier life. Learn how to incorporate easy techniques of healthy cooking methods which you can use daily to maintain and improve your health. Regardless of how much cooking experience you have, you will leave class able to prepare healthy foods that taste great! Urologic Cancer in Men - Sexuality and Cancer
Presented by: David Streitz, MD and Ken Mitchell, PA-C, MPAS
Metro Urology
This lecture will provide an overview of urologic cancers in men and these cancers’ impact on sexuality. It will also highlight options for management and treatment of these cancers and possible impacts such as Erectile Dysfunction. Men and their spouse or guest are welcome.
Metro Urology Foundation Small Group January Programming
The Metro Urology Foundation small group programming is an opportunity for those living with urologic conditions to meet with others in a small group setting. These programs are led by a variety of professionals throughout the Twin Cities. These sessions are limited to 24 participants per breakout session; if there is a large response to a specific session the foundation will work to hold an additional session on the specific topic.
The Impact of Diet and Lifestyle on Urologic Cancers
Presented by: Jes Siiteri, PhD, PA-C
This program will address diet and lifestyle changes that, when paired with your medical treatment, can assist you through your treatment of cancer and beyond. The program will provide an insight into utilizing your diet and lifestyle to enhance your care and quality of life.
