After earning a B.S., a B.A, and a M.D. at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Stein worked as a general and urologic surgery resident at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, NY. While at Montefiore Hospital Dr. Stein did a fellowship in Renal Transplant. Dr. Stein is affiliated with the University of Minnesota and has held professional memberships in such groups as the American Urological Association and the Minnesota Urological Society, where he is currently serving as President.
He has performed duties as a urologist for the United States Air Force during time spent at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. There he was Chief of the Urology Service at the AFB for Group Health in Minneapolis and for Wichita Falls Clinic in Texas. Additionally, Dr. Stein was a partner with the Associated Specialists in Urology before it merged with Metropolitan Urologic Specialists, P.A. in 1999. Dr. Stein is married with two children and has served on his local school board for four years.
